What is Big AMP?

• Big AMP is an all-inclusive fun-filled day in the park you don’t want to miss! Amusement rides, live music, food trucks and drinks package. The day will feature live performances from Peach Fur, Mia Wray, The Colliflowers, & more!

Where and when is Big AMP?

• The Great Lawn, Broadwater Parklands

• Saturday 12 August

What time does Big AMP start and finish?

• Doors open at 11.45 am and the event finishes at 5.00 pm.

Will there be food and drink at the event?

• Yes – lunch token and all drinks are included in the ticket price.

Do I have to pay for food and drinks at the event?

• No – all drinks are included in the ticket price

• Each ticket holder will receive 1 free food truck lunch token at the event

What drinks are included in the beverage package and what time will it be available?

• Beer, wine, sparkling, ginger beer, cider and limited vodka Red Bull

• Non-alcoholic beer, non-alcoholic wine, soft drink

• The drinks package will be available from 12.00 pm

What do I wear to Big AMP?

• There is no set dress code for Big AMP, but we recommend you dress like you’re heading to a picnic with your friends!

• Keep sun safety in-mind, the Australian sun can be harsh!

• No flip-flops, birthday suits or nipple-tassels please! Keep it appropriate & cute!

What activities will be at Big AMP?

• Live music by some of the best artists on the East-coast of Australia

• Performances

• Amusement rides

• Art installations

• Lawn games

• 4.5 hour drinks package and food truck lunch

• Good times with your mates

Where do I purchase Big AMP tickets?

• Tickets can be purchased online here 

• If you’re looking to save a few dollars on fees you can purchase your tickets in person from the Student Guild (G07) on campus

Is there an afterparty for Big AMP?

• Yes – The official afterparty is at The Cavill Hotel in Surfers Paradise, includes free transport, entry and gift on arrival.

• Jump on the free buses provided at the conclusion of the event at 5.00pm. We’ll take you straight to The Cavill Hotel, Surfers Paradise.

Can non-Griffith University students attend Big AMP?

• Yes – non-Griffith University students can attend as guest of a Griffith University student.

How do I prove I am a Griffith University student?

• Present your student card at the door when checking into the event.

Is Big AMP 18+ only?

• Yes – Big AMP is 18+ only. Attendees will be required to show valid proof of age when they check into the event.

Can I leave once I’ve entered and come back in?

• Pass outs are not allowed, you will not be allowed to leave and come back in.

Is there a limit to the number of tickets I can purchase?

• No, you can purchase as many tickets as you like.

What’s the best way to get to Big AMP?

• We encourage attendees not to drive to Big AMP

What’s the best way to get home from Big AMP?

Can I park my car at Big AMP?

• There is no allocated parking at Big AMP. Paid metered parking is available in the Southport area.

• We don’t encourage attendees to drive to Big AMP.

Can I bring food to Big AMP?

• Attendees are permitted to bring extra snacks to the event, but you don’t need to. All attendees receive a free food truck lunch at the event.

Can I bring drinks to Big AMP?

• No – drinks are not permitted to be brought into the event.

Is there free water available at the event?

• Yes – free water will be available from the bars and water dispensers.

• You are permitted to bring empty water bottles to refill into the event.

Will there be a security and bag check?

• Yes – all attendee bags will be checked at the door.

Will sunscreen be available?

• Yes – free sunscreen will be available from the information tent.

Will there be a chillout space?

• Yes – there will be an alcohol-free chillout space at Big AMP for those that need a quiet place to relax.

Can I bring my dog to Big AMP?

• No – as much as we love puppies, animals are not permitted at Big AMP. Support dogs are permitted.

Can I get a refund?

• Yes – tickets are refundable up until 7 days prior to the event.

I purchased a ticket but never received it, what do I do?

Can I sell my ticket?

• If you can no longer attend Big AMP, you can request a refund up to 7 days prior or you can pass your ticket onto someone else. Please contact the Student Guild if you need to transfer between different ticket types as there will be a difference in ticket price.

Can I buy a ticket off someone else?

• Yes but be careful, scammers have been known to target these types of events.
