We’re currently inviting expressions of interest from industry professionals willing to volunteer their time to help create the next generation of work ready graduates. The Expo will feature information stalls, panel discussions, speaker sessions, speed mentoring, career consultations, resume/interview tips and more designed to help students build a strong experience base and prepare to launch their careers. Specifically we are seeking volunteers for two key roles and expressions of interest will be confirmed the week prior to the event with the full details.
Alumni/industry volunteers will sit down with a small industry based group of five students for a 15 minute Q&A on how they made their university transition and what their work is really like. At the end of the 15 minutes each group of students will rotate tables three times before joining all attendees at an open networking area for continued discussion. The total time commitment is 1 hour and this role suites graduates with at least 5 years industry experience.
Resume and interview advice
Alumni/industry volunteers will sit down for six one-on-one 20min sessions with students to review their resume, share application advice and offer interview strategies. This role suites volunteers with significant recruitment, hiring and interviewing experience to provide students with insights on how to gain attention, display confidence, properly prepare and avoid common pitfalls. The total time commitment is 2 hours.
