Digital detox
Disconnecting from technology can be hard to manage when it is our one form of entertainment, social interaction, and even education, but staying plugged in all day can have harmful impacts on our sleep schedule, stress levels, mental health and more.
With all that being said, it can be hard to completely limit our screen time, but it is worthwhile to set limits for yourself, and put the screens away:
- When you are eating meals, particularly when dining with other people
- When you are waking up or going to bed
- When you are working on a project or hobby
- When you are spending time with friends or family
- Before you go to sleep each night

You can also try downloading the Offtime app for your phone that allows you to control how much time you spend on certain apps and monitor your screen time to help you focus on study or give yourself a bit of me-time.

There are many therapeutic ways to reduce stress, but sometimes simply taking a deep breath can have a profound impact. If you are in need of a quick way to de-stress wherever you are, give this 1 minute breathing practice a go.
