We offer a free legal service to all students currently enrolled at Griffith University Gold Coast during trimesters, including examination periods. During your allocated session, a lawyer will contact you via the phone and provide you one-off free legal advice in the following areas only:
This service will commence in Week 1 of Trimester 2. Each session is limited to 15 minutes per person and available fortnightly on Wednesdays from 9.00 am – 10.00 am. Bookings are essential.
This amount of time does not allow our lawyers to give you detailed legal advice about complex matters.
This service can’t help you with:
• Representing you in court
• Drafting letters on your behalf
• Negotiating for you
• Amending documents
• Advising on documents you have drafted yourself
Student life can be tough but not knowing what to do when complex issues arise can make it even tougher. We are currently searching for all law enthusiasts/writers to draft information on a range of topics from a legal perspective. Your drafted information will be confirmed by McInnes Wilson Lawyers and published on our website for all students to have access to.
Topics include but are not limited to:
• Consumer Law
• Rental Scams
• Victim of a Crime
• Issues with the Police
• Social Media
• Road Rules
• Employment Law
If you are interested in drafting any of these topics or would like more information, please contact the Student Support and Advocacy Manager Sharna McIntosh firstname.lastname@example.org or (07) 5552 8710
If your legal query is outside of the free legal advice scope, please peruse our legal resources FAQ section for further assistance.
Still confused to what your next step is with your legal issue? Don’t hesitate to book an over the phone appointment and speak with a McInnes Wilson Lawyer professional.
