This is an application to advertise a property on the Student Guild Website, successful completion of this form does not automatically guarantee advertisement.
All listings must meet the Queensland Rental Standards as per the Rental Tenancy Authority (RTA) which specifies minimum housing standards specify that Queensland residential rental properties must:
• be weatherproof and structurally sound
• be in good repair, with fixtures and fittings that are not likely to cause injury through normal use
• have functioning locks or latches on all external doors and windows that can be reached without a ladder
• be free from vermin, damp and mould
• include curtains or other window coverings, which provide privacy in rooms where the tenant might reasonably expect it, such as bedrooms
• have adequate plumbing and drainage and be connected to hot and cold water that is suitable for drinking
• provide privacy in bathroom areas and have flushable toilets connected to a sewer, septic tank or other waste disposal system
• have a functioning cook-top, if a kitchen is provided
•include the necessary fixtures for a functional laundry, such as tap fixtures and adequate plumbing, if laundry facilities are provided.
The above list is not exhaustive and may change at anytime. Ensure your property meets all relevant criteria.
The Student Guild reserves the right to make any changes advertisement content and placement.
If accepted, your accommodation offer will be advertised for four (4) weeks on gugcstudentguild.com.au/gugc-accommodation/. At the conclusion of the four (4) week period, your listing will be automatically removed. If you wish to renew the listing, a new listing application must be made.
Interested students will contact you, the accommodation provider, directly to arrange an inspection.
Signed contractual agreements are compulsory and a bond of one to four weeks is generally required. If a bond has been paid, it must be lodged with the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA) at rta.qld.gov.au. It is recommended you view and utilise the Rooming Accommodation Agreement (Form R18) available on the RTA website.
The Student Guild does not guarantee accommodation will be filled within the four week length of advertisement.
All applications must include at least one photo of the available bedroom, bathroom, common area and kitchen. You must also provide at least one picture of the exterior of the property. You must provide a minimum of 4 images, excluding images of the exterior of the property. You must provide the full street address in the application. Exterior images and full street addresses are not posted to the website, but filed for the Student Guild records.
You are required to upload identification matching your name to the advertisement.
Any advertisements including information regarding job descriptions, such as Nanny or Au Pair will not have job details or requirements included on published accommodation advertisement as this is classified as a job vacancy.
