Student clubs are often described as the heart of university life for good reason and many students have some of their best university experiences through participation in student clubs. Financial assistance
Financial assistance
All affiliated clubs are eligible to receive core funding to drive member growth and participation. This is allocated each trimester based on club size. Clubs can also apply for special project grants or receive support seeking sponsorship.
Insurance coverage
Insurance coverage
Griffith University Gold Coast students participating in activities and events conducted by registered clubs are covered by Griffith University’s insurance policy therefore clubs are not required to purchase their own Public Liability Insurance.
Note: There may be some exceptions.
Marketing support
Marketing support
Marketing support is available to clubs outside their core Affiliation Funding to assist with the design, printing and promotion of event posters and social media ads. Promotion of club activities and initiatives by the Student Guild and University. Only registered clubs are entitled to use “Griffith University” in the club name and use of the GUGC Student Guild logo.

Club committee training & professional development
Club Executives will be given the opportunity to participate in an annual professional development series building on their club management skills and enhancing career development. Themes include strategic planning, grant writing, supporting mental health, committee governance and leadership.

Venues & equipment
Venue & equipment sourcing
Clubs are able to request the use of the clubs van and free equipment including; tables, chairs, BBQs, equipment and marquees. Use of the 11-seater van for club events and initiatives. Clubs can also receive assistance sourcing venues such as:

- Sports fields and facilities
- Arts and drama studios
- Social event venues

The annual Guild Awards Night celebrates the outstanding achievements of our sports and cultural clubs. This is a prestigious event is hosted annually and is free for the key club committee to attend.
